The Student Kitchen has a microwave, fridge/freezer, stove, two ovens, and a dishwasher. If you would like to ensure you have pots, pans, or other cooking utensils, please book and then email smaide.yale@gmail.com to request these supplies. We cannot guarantee what cooking supplies are left in the kitchen by other students.
Reservation Policy for Sillikitchen
- Reservation Eligibility: Only Silliman students may reserve the Sillikitchen.
- Reservation Duration: We allow two reservations per day. If a slot is not available then you should assume someone reserved the kitchen. If you have a last-minute request, please see the sign on the kitchen door for instructions.
- Access: Entry to the space is by key and lockbox. A lockbox is located adjacent to the main entrance. Silliman aide staff will send you a one-time-use code for opening the box once the reservation is finalized. Do not email the community listserv asking for the code!
- Rules:
- NO alcoholic beverages in the student kitchen.
- Classes and organizations are not allowed to use the student kitchen. The kitchen is for Silliman students only.
- No leftovers are to be kept in the kitchen.
- Handle all appliances and supplies with care.
- Do NOT remove any pots/pans, dishes, glasses, or silverware from the kitchen.
- WASH, DRY and STOW away all dishes before you leave.
- Wipe down counters and cooking surfaces, including the sink, the stovetop, and the table.
- Sweep the floor.
- Be sure all electrical appliances are turned off.
- Be sure the windows are closed.
- Please leave the student kitchen cleaner than you found it.
- Failure to respect the student kitchen policies can result in loss of your student kitchen privileges for the academic year.
- Reporting Issues: Report any equipment or supplies in disrepair by emailing smaide.yale@gmail.com.
Please note that we will have to shut the space down if we notice an ongoing problem with kitchen cleanliness. You may be charged a cleaning fee if you are identified as someone who leaves the space dirty. Do your part and keep the space clean!
