Yocilin Solis Lopez

First-Year Counselor

Hi Class of 2030! My name is Yocilin Solis Lopez (she/her/hers), and I’m from Lynn, Massachusetts, a short drive from Boston. I’m majoring in Ethics, Politics, & Economics with an Advanced Spanish certificate. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in law as an immigration attorney! On campus, I’m involved in groups like Lawtinas, the Yale Latina Pre-Law Program, and SUBE (Yale’s Latine pre-professional club), among others. I also conduct research at the School of Public Health as a recipient of the Tobin Research Assistantship. In addition, I do quality and regulatory research for a medical device startup through Yale Ventures.

Outside of academics, you can usually find me in the Silliman basement, whether that’s at Sal’s (my favorite room freshman year) or at Silliflicks. Recently though, I’ve been spending more time at New Haven cafés drinking lattes—Arwa Yemeni Coffee and MOTW are my current favorites.

I’m really excited to meet you all! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about being pre-law at Yale, cafés in New Haven, or anything else that comes up.
