My name is Jah’de Alexander (he/him), and I’m a senior majoring in Ethics, Politics & Economics. I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri - which means I developed a deep love for going out of town as you should stay far away from the arch (joke*).
I chose EPE because it sounded pretty aura. Additionally, I’m fascinated by how people make decisions - morally, politically, economically - and how those decisions shape the world we live in. I think a lot about big yet invisible systems, the “hive mind,” and the quiet forces that move history. But I also think a lot about music. I genuinely believe music enhances life in every possible respect. If you ever see me subtly acting out whatever I’m listening to in my AirPods while walking through Cross Campus… no you didn’t.
On campus, I play Club Basketball and serve as a “time traveler” with Camp Kesem at Yale, working with kids whose parents are affected by cancer. One of my favorite Yale memories so far is dunking on a Quinnipiac player - a moment I will absolutely bring up again if prompted.
I’m the therapist friend, the chaos friend, the planner friend, the 2am debater, and the gym-bro philosopher… all in one. My toxic trait is that I can convincingly argue almost anything (I could probably convince a worm it’s a finger). I recharge through basketball, meditation, and long music sessions that feel borderline cinematic.
I stand firmly on a few important principles: One Piece is peak, “horses don’t stop, they keep going”, and saying hello matters more than people think. If you ever want to talk about life, music, philosophy, basketball, or why Khabib Nurmagomedov might be the most interesting dinner guest imaginable, my door is open.
Welcome home.
