Hi y’all! My name is Elianna (Ellie) Asare. I’m majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) on the pre-med track. I work in a cancer biology lab at the Yale School of Medicine and hope to pursue medical oncology, with a particular interest in metastatic breast cancer and racial disparities in outcomes for triple-negative breast cancer.
Outside of the classroom, I tutor for the Chemistry Department and New Haven Reads, volunteer as a Patient Aide at Yale New Haven Hospital, and serve on the board for Black Pre-Health at Yale.
Most of the time, you can find me in the Silliman textbook library, stocking up on mini Oreos in Steep, or listening to music at a deafening volume while trekking up Science Hill. I’m also an adamant Whale Tea addict (EXTRA Oreo is non-negotiable) and love watching anything by Shonda Rhimes.
Welcome to Yale and Silliman (the best college, duh), Class of ’30! I’m so excited to meet you all—please don’t hesitate to reach out!
